Local government elections

Local government elections determine who serves on the Shire of Cue Council. Elections are conducted in accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 and the Local Government (Elections) Regulations 1997.

The Shire has an extraordinary election this month, followed by the next ordinary local government election in October 2027.

The Shire of Cue extraordinary election is being conducted as a postal election. Completed voting packages must be received by 6.00pm on election day.

Ordinary local government elections are held every two years on the third Saturday in October. The next ordinary election across Western Australia will be held on this date.

Residents enrolled on the State electoral roll are generally automatically enrolled for local government elections. Make sure your enrolment details are current before the roll closes.

OWNERS & OCCUPIERS

Not a resident?

Some non-resident owners and occupiers of rateable property may be eligible to enrol for local government elections. Contact the Shire if you need information about owner and occupier enrolment.

Election results

Results remain part of the public record.

Following an election, the Returning Officer declares the result and the required public notice is published. Previous election material is retained on the Shire's official website where required by legislation.
