Live & Play in Cue

Community Facilities

Play. Train. Meet. Perform. Cool off. Cue packs a surprising range of community and recreation facilities into a very small town.

More than you might expect

Community life in Cue happens outside as much as it does inside.

Cue's main recreation and community facilities are concentrated around the town centre, sports oval, Railway Station, Brockman Park and Town Hall precincts.

Residents and visitors can use grassed parks, shaded seating, a seasonal water playground, outdoor exercise equipment, multi-use courts, a pump track, sporting facilities and community venues — with many of the spaces also used for events throughout the year.

Brockman Park in Cue
Brockman Park

Shade, grass and somewhere to stop for a BBQ.

Brockman Park provides a green community space in the centre of Cue with lawn, trees, shaded seating and BBQ facilities.

It is used for casual picnics and family time as well as community activities, school events and gatherings. The historic Masonic Lodge forms an unmistakable backdrop across the park.

The park sits close to the Town Hall and other recreation facilities, making this part of Cue one of the town's main social precincts.

Sports Oval Precinct

Sport, exercise and community events in one precinct.

Cue's grassed Sports Oval is one of the town's major community spaces and is used for football, recreation and larger community events.

The restored Railway Station sits alongside the oval and now houses the Cue Youth Centre. Its long platform also works naturally as a spectator area and backdrop for celebrations, concerts and community events.

Nearby recreation facilities include the shaded outdoor gym, multi-use courts and pump track, creating a compact precinct where people can train, play or simply spend time outdoors.

Outdoor Gym

Train outside — without baking in the Murchison sun.

The outdoor gym beside the Railway Station and Sports Oval provides a range of fixed exercise equipment under large shade sails.

It gives residents another free option for strength, mobility and general fitness and complements the Shire's indoor Cue Fitness Centre.

Multi-use basketball and netball courts in Cue
Courts & Wheels

Basketball, netball, tennis — and a pump track next door.

Cue's resurfaced multi-use courts are line-marked for basketball, netball and tennis and provide a flexible outdoor space for casual games, organised sport and youth activities.

The adjoining pump track was developed for scooters, skateboards and smaller bicycles, adding another recreation option for young people without requiring a full skate park.

Please share the facilities, respect other users and follow any current signage applying to the courts or pump track.

Cue Water Playground
Summer in Cue

When summer turns up, so does the water.

Cue's interactive Water Playground gives children somewhere to cool off during the hotter months and has been part of summer community life since its development in the late 2000s.

Sprays, arches, water cannons and overhead water features create a play space designed specifically for Cue's climate.

The Water Playground is seasonal. Operating times can change depending on the season, maintenance and local conditions, so check current Shire information if you are planning a visit specifically to use it.

Cue Town Hall
Cue Town Hall

Stage shows, meetings, celebrations and everything in between.

The present Cue Town Hall was built in 1957 after the earlier hall was destroyed by fire during a thunderstorm in 1955.

Today it remains one of Cue's main indoor community venues, with a large hall and stage suited to performances, public events, workshops, celebrations and community gatherings.

The hall also includes smaller rooms behind the stage, while the surrounding precinct connects directly with lawn bowls, playground and outdoor community areas.

Lawn Bowls

Social competition under the lights.

The lawn bowls rink beside the Town Hall adds another flexible recreation space to the community precinct and is used for both bowls and social events.

Cue's cooler months regularly bring organised Barefoot Bowls, giving experienced bowlers and complete beginners a reason to get together on winter evenings.
