Preparing a submission

Read the tender documents carefully

Each tender sets out its own scope, submission requirements, evaluation criteria, closing date and method of lodgement. Tenderers should rely on the requirements contained in the relevant tender documentation.

Check the closing time

Make sure your submission is lodged at the place and before the time stated in the invitation. Under the tender regulations, a tender submitted late or to the wrong place must be rejected.

Address the criteria

Respond clearly to the requirements and evaluation criteria contained in the tender. Include all schedules, declarations and supporting information requested.

Ask questions early

If you require clarification, use the contact person identified in the tender documents. Do not rely on informal advice that is not part of the tender process.

Allow time to lodge

Do not leave submission until the last minute. Allow time for document upload, email delivery or physical lodgement requirements specified in the tender.

Local government procurement

Fair and transparent procurement

The Shire's tendering processes operate under section 3.57 of the Local Government Act 1995 and the Local Government (Functions and General) Regulations 1996.

Procurement may also occur through quotations or other permitted procurement methods. Not every purchasing opportunity undertaken by the Shire will therefore appear on this tenders page.
